Fast-Tracking Marine Corps Logistics: VITL-BMA

November 10, 2025 Kern Tech Group

We’ve teamed with the Office of Naval Research and Aimpoint Digital to advance the Virtual Integrated Tactical Logistics – Battle Management Aid (VITL-BMA)—a capability highlighted by the Marine Corps for enabling global logistics awareness and faster, data-driven decisions in contested environments. (For more info see Marine Corps Gazette, March 2025)

Modernization doesn’t fail in the lab; it fails at the last mile when logistics, ordnance and people arrive late or don’t provide exactly what the warfighter needs. That’s where our joint work on VITL-BMA comes in.

What VITL-BMA is
VITL-BMA is a logistics planning and decision-support capability that visualizes connectors and supplies, predicts sustainment requirements, and optimizes distribution—so commanders can compare robust plans on the fly and act at the speed of relevance.

Why it matters now
The Marine Corps’ push for Global Logistics Awareness and Decision Making (GLADM) emphasizes accurate, authoritative data delivered at the right moment and place—at enterprise or edge. VITL-BMA directly supports that vision.

Our role

  • ONR Leadership and Sponsorship: ONR (Dr. William Krebs) sponsors the research, prototyping, and transition planning and maintain close partnership with the Marine Corps and the VITL_BMA Team.

  • Aimpoint Digital collaboration: As a key member of the KTG, Aimpoint Digital provides advanced analytics and optimization patterns for resilient, scenario-aware plans (mission planning through last-mile sustainment).

  • KTG provides DEVSECOPs: We deploy SME teams with subject matter experience, embed them with the Marine Coprs teams that need VITL-BMA capability into to create a rapid DevOps cycle that compresses time-to-adoption and smooths Program of Record transitions.

What’s next
VITL-BMA Phase I focuses on a single pane of glass for logistics visibility and iterative, optimized distribution; Phase II targets decommissioning legacy tools by integrating planning, optimization, and decision support into one framework.

Call to action

  • Want to shorten time-to-competence and reduce POR risk? Let’s talk.

  • Need flexible SME support aligned to current operations? We can help.
